The therapeutic process can be scary and vulnerable. My hope is that we can navigate it together so that you feel completely supported as you strive to find more balance and fulfillment in your life. My favorite part of being a Clinical Psychologist is getting to observe people discover better, truer versions of themselves as they heal old wounds and build skill and confidence. I am an extroverted, curious person by nature who loves to laugh, explore, take risks, get deep, and connect. Therapy has been a natural fit! I received my Honors Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from McGill University (yep, I’m Canadian!). I went on to pursue a Masters of Science degree and a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Victoria in British Columbia. I then completed a Clinical Residency and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Calgary, Alberta. Since then, I have been working in the field of trauma and eating disorders and their co-occurring mental health conditions for eight years.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, respectful, direct, humorous, and inquisitive. I practice from a humanistic and integrative approach - I help my clients identify their own strengths and wisdom to make positive change, and treatment is always customized to meet their unique needs. I draw on the most evidence-based interventions for the treatment of trauma and mood, anxiety, and eating disorders, specifically Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I am a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS). I am also a Certified Advanced Emotion Focused Family Therapist, and so I bring an expertise in the support of families who are struggling to care for a loved one with a mental illness.
