Therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to give clients autonomy throughout our work together. You are the expert on your life, and I hope to build off of the strengths you have and empower you as you navigate life’s challenges. I am passionate about creating an environment where individuals of all backgrounds feel safe to share and express themselves openly as we work together. I aim to support you in your process of self-exploration, insight building, and I can provide skills for you to utilize along the way. Starting therapy can feel scary and I hope my clients and I can build an open and trusting therapeutic relationship to support the process, with a little humor along the way.
In addition to talk therapy, I offer clients the ability to explore the therapeutic benefits of movement and dance. I discovered my love for dance as a teenager and since then dance has been an important part of my life both recreationally and therapeutically. Connecting with the body through movement and dance provides valuable insights that allow us to explore and heal in new ways. Incorporating movement and dance into therapy may not be for you, but if you are interested in exploring this modality I would love to be your guide!
I am a psychologist candidate who works with both adolescents and adults navigating the many joys and challenges of life. I completed my undergraduate training in both psychology and dance at the University of North Texas. I earned my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Denver, and my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University in New York. I received additional training in the practice of dance/movement therapy from 92 NY Harkness Dance Center, which offers courses and continuing education for those in the mental health field who want to add movement and dance to their therapeutic practice.
