Couples & Relationship Counseling

Psychotherapy for Real Change in Colorado

An Action-Oriented Approach To Break Long Standing Patterns

Being in a relationship with another human is tough and requires work. Having a third party navigate alongside you is extraordinarily helpful in shifting your communication patterns, better understanding one another, and getting both partners’ needs met. Therapy helps couples break through long standing patterns and find real communication and connection.

Emanate’s Couples & Relationship experts, Dr. Lindsey Diamond and Dr. Talia Kori, bring an integrative behavioral model in order to help individuals tap their emotional and cognitive resources to lead rich and fulfilling lives. They take an action oriented, strengths based approach for couples to see changes quickly.

Lindsey and Talia help couples focus on patterns in their relationships, with regards to communication, intimacy and lifestyle, and works with couples to shift those patterns into a more productive and healthier place.

Couples come into therapy for all sorts of reasons

Some people jump to the conclusion that starting couples therapy means a relationship is coming to an inevitable end. We fully disagree with this! Just like anything in like life, relationships can benefit greatly from a tune up. Sometimes, people come in because they are contemplating ending a relationship. But in the majority of cases, they come to therapy because they want their relationship to improve. Some common areas we work to resolve with couples are:

  • Communication

  • Sex and intimacy

  • Differing priorities

  • Unmet needs

  • General feelings of discontent or resentment

  • Lack of connection (feeling like roommates)

  • Unequal division of labor

  • Differing world-views or political beliefs

    …and more.

Why Emanate?

The word emanate means to flow out or to flow forth.

Being in the flow of your life means being flexible—going with the flow—but in an intentional, active way. It means choosing your path, but allowing many courses to get to the destination.

It’s more moments of attunement with those around you, particularly the ones you love. It’s getting out of your head and into your life. It's about enjoying every sip of your afternoon tea and noticing the blue sky. It’s accepting the positive and negative events and emotions that come with life. And accepting yourself. It may  mean skiing down the mountain with nothing else on your mind, or finding your creative juice without second guessing yourself. It means being your true self, uninterrupted. It means alignment between body, mind, and spirit. This is our goal for you.
